Nienna Lady of Mercy

Personal work. My view of Nienna, from Tolkien's mythology.

Nienna (Quenya; IPA [niˈenna] or [niˈjenna] - "Weeping" or "She Who Weeps") was an Ainu, one of the Aratar and a Vala who was responsible for the mercy and grief spread across Arda. She had dominion over the Halls of Nienna, which were on the western edge of Valinor, looking over the sea.

Tutor of Olórin; she weeps constantly, but not for herself; and those who hearken to her learn pity, courage and endurance in hope. Her tears are those of healing and compassion, not sadness.
